Day 3 – AlingAling Waterfalls
My third day on my Bali Primal Lifestyle trip took me from the boxing ring back to nature and the most magnificent waterfalls I have seen with my own eyes. This miracle of nature is truly something unique. There are a total of 7 waterfalls and some magnificent lagoons at AlingAling. The waterfalls and wilderness surrounding them are unspoilt and well protected by the local villagers.
Tourists show up to ride the natural slides and jump the falls, but it’s all very mellow and low key. People are respectful of this god given gift. I strongly believe that when people of all sorts are transported into a spectacular natural setting like this, the best is brought out in them. I sensed a feeling of mutual respect and happiness with every person I ran into during my day there. Nobody was stressed; everybody (even us westerners) was friendly and courteous. This sensation is quite amazing when you have arrived from 6 months of New York stress.
I spent my day behaving very PRIMAL or like a kid! And that I think is the key here – PLAY. Kids have fun all day long when they are left to play and they can do this with basic objects or games. This is what we “grown-ups”” have to do more often, go out there and let the “kid” in us back out and just enjoy and be happy. This das was truly therapeutic. Climbing rocks, diving off cliffs and jumping off 50ft cliffs without fear, just passion and the zest for life in my mind, muscles and bones. It was wonderful. So wonderful I recommend this to all of you. Go and find place to cliff dive or jump, or hell, even just jumping off a diving board will do if you can’t find a natural setting.
Getting out into nature as often as we can, but at least once a week is essential to our health and well being. Being surrounded by nature and especially being in the forest, mountains or beaches simply grounds us and makes us happier and better people = FOREST THERAPY, combined with WATERTHERAPY = AWESOME. When you are out there doing whatever it may be, diving, walking, running, picnicking, just remind yourself to breath deeply and look around. Look around a lot and smile – A LOT. Thank yourself for your existence and the positivity and happiness you bring to this world. Treat yourself and love yourself.
